What I think of my Personal Learning Environment

1. First of all, it means a whole lot more to me now than it did at the beginning. I just had no idea what I was creating. A place to learn and to post my learning.

The most valuable thing was the ability to create an environment that I can come back to and review and teach from. This is critical information that I need to pass on to teachers I am assisting. If this school is going to stay on the cutting edge, I need to pass this informaiton on in a efficient and constructive way. I had a valuable experience this week and learned just how much better I need to become.

The second most valuable thing I learned was how to program in html. I need to learn a lot more. I am grateful for this beginning.

2. What I like least is that I could have any one of my pages changed by someone else. I try to be sure every page has the highest notice on it that is possible. I want to know if people are using these pages and what they are using them for. I do not have much concern now, but I have a lot of concern for the future.

However, I would not have used a blog because that is a history that I may never return to and I certainly can not reference. I noticed that this was particularly a problem when I went to past assignments to look at what other students had entered. Some of the blogs that I clicked links for took me directly to the day entry for that assignment. But most of them took me to the last day's blog and I had to search for the assignment.

3. I hope to build this set of Wiki pages to the point that I can afford to pay to lock them up. I do not ever want to use a blog for a PLE. I might use it to report into my family and friends, but not for reference material. I want to build reference material on this blog for others to see and use eventually. I especially want to build reference pages that teachers can learn from. I hope to learn how to improve on the presentation of material.
